International Business Honor Society (IBHS)
at Florida International University
The Bandhwari Women’s Project is proud to partner with the International Business Honor Society (IBHS) at Florida International University. Together, we are combining student leadership and global engagement to support sustainable development in Bandhwari, India. Through this partnership, IBHS members help raise awareness, foster cross-cultural understanding, and contribute to empowering women artisans with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our Story
The partnership between The Bandhwari Women’s Project and IBHS at Florida International University began in 2016, when Professor David Wernick first introduced the initiative to IBHS students. Since then, the project has become an invaluable platform for students to apply their academic knowledge while gaining hands-on experience in international business, social entrepreneurship, and nonprofit management.
Each year, IBHS members not only contribute to the growth and visibility of the project but also sharpen their own leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Beyond the classroom, a select group of students travels annually to India, where they have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture, witness the project’s impact firsthand, and build lasting connections with the women of Bandhwari.
This ongoing collaboration continues to shape students into globally minded leaders while advancing the mission of empowering women artisans through sustainable economic opportunity.
